Eric Nies

Eric Nies is an accomplished singer, dancer and actor. Also a former male fashion model, he appeared in The Real World: New York which was the first season of MTV's reality series. Nies has since appeared in numerous dance exercise videos and faded from the spotlight. An attempt to revive his career has him as part of the cast of Confessions of a Teen Idol which airs on VH1.
In March 2009 Nies was photographed naked while rescuing a dog from a freezing pond in upstate New York. The incident occurred on a trip to Bear Mountain when the dog, Sugar Ray, chased a flock of geese onto the icy waters.TMZ: "Real World" Alum in Naked Doggie Rescue (March 18, 2008)
Career Highlights
Eric Nies became well known for his clean-cut, muscular look on The Real World: New York and went on to host MTV's dance music show, The Grind from 1992-95. He also hosted the subsequent spin-off Grind exercise videos. He made appearances on MTV's Real World/Road Rules Challenge series, as well as in other films, television projects, and fitness infomercials. Nies returned to the Hollywood spotlight with a very different look of being unshaven and having long hair. His career has since had a slow rise, appearing on VH1's Confessions of a Teen Idol and an induction into the Television and Broadcasters Hall of Fame.
